Delete your account

Use this page to request deletion of your Live Mela account and the personal data linked to it. Requests are handled by email so we can verify ownership of the account.

How to request account deletion

1. Email support@livemela.co.in from a mailbox you monitor.
2. Use the subject line: Delete my Live Mela account.
3. Include the phone number registered on your Live Mela account (with country code, e.g. +91XXXXXXXXXX), and your name if the profile has one.
4. We will verify the request and confirm when deletion has been started. We respond within 30 days.

Email deletion request

What we delete

After verification, we delete or anonymise personal data tied to your account, typically within 30 days, including:

• Account profile (name, phone, photo, and related profile fields)
• Authentication / sign-in identifiers for that account
• User-generated content where feasible (e.g. profile-linked posts, chat identity)
• Device tokens and similar app identifiers linked to the account

Backup copies may remain for up to 90 days for recovery and security, then are removed or fully anonymised.

What we may keep

Some records are retained when required by law or for fraud / dispute handling:

• Transaction / payment records — up to about 7 years (Indian tax and financial requirements)
• Coupon redemption logs — up to about 2 years
• Aggregated / anonymised analytics that can no longer identify you

Partial data deletion (without closing the account)

You can also request deletion of specific personal data without deleting the whole account (for example profile photo or optional profile fields). Email support@livemela.co.in with subject Live Mela data deletion request, describe what you want removed, and include your registered phone number. We will respond within 30 days, subject to legal retention rules.
